IREM Georgia Social Media Classes
August 2011 was a whirlwind month of education for the Institute of Real Estate Management here in the state of Georgia. For three consecutive Fridays, I had the opportunity to conduct hands-on workshops. First, we started with LinkedIn, then we went to Facebook and last but not least Twitter. I want to give a special shout-out to Deborah Westphal and Maria Bailey who worked so hard to coordinate these events and make the students comfortable. Below are the presentations I used. Twitter Shakes out the Earthquake News
Twitter once again shows its power over virtually any other medium. It was at approximately 2 pm EST and I started to see tweets saying EARTHQUAKE. It was within moments the Twitter stream was filled with Tweets from all over the eastern seaboard of people who were affected. Cell phone coverage was down for many but Twitter was there to keep the communications going. (more…)
The Seven Dwarfs of Tweeting
I have been on Twitter a couple of years now and I have seen all kinds of Tweeters out there. Whether some realize it or not what you do on Twitter can tell a lot about you and may even give off the wrong impression to others. To make it fun I thought I would break it down by the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs analogy (Walt Disney Studios Production). Almost 10 Tips to Indicate You Are a Twitter Addict
If you don't have a sense of humor then you probably should not be on this post. If you do have a sense of humor, then thank you for not being too serious about social media. Twitter to me is such a powerful tool that has led me to new relationships from one end of this planet to the other. The chats that I get involved in when I have time have helped me draw closer to people and to learn so much about myself and how I can improve in daily business.
