Riding the Waves of Social Media
I was having another sleepless night as I wrote this. I have had a lot on my mind lately with lots of different issues that have been demanding my attention. One of which has been my preparation for 2012. As I am mentally outlining a plan to meet with my team I could not help but deeply reflect on what I have personally experienced over the course of 2011. (more…)
IREM Georgia Social Media Classes
August 2011 was a whirlwind month of education for the Institute of Real Estate Management here in the state of Georgia. For three consecutive Fridays, I had the opportunity to conduct hands-on workshops. First, we started with LinkedIn, then we went to Facebook and last but not least Twitter. I want to give a special shout-out to Deborah Westphal and Maria Bailey who worked so hard to coordinate these events and make the students comfortable. Below are the presentations I used. For my students who attended this should serve as a good review as you implement these tools into your business model. (more…)

It is amazing to me to see the rewards that come from planting a seed, cultivating the ground; giving it some water and seeing something beautiful grow. As I worked away at getting my flowers to bloom I could not help but see so many parallels to what we try to do on a social media level. (more…)
Social Media Bubble- Burst or New Bubble?

The comments themselves spoke of the challenges people are having and the overall effect it has had. Some folks have penned some posts regarding social media marketing and the bubble bursting. I am tackling this from an angle where initially there was great hype in certain circles about the ability to connect but now that bubble has burst for some. (more…)
Don't Lower Yourself to the Social Media Street Gangs
I came to the realization today that I needed to make some changes in many things I pay attention to in the social media space. It was inspired by a couple of posts that helped me gain perspective on what is important in life. My family should be my shining light each day and the work I do to take care of them should never have anything that interferes or clouds that path. (more…)
