This year went by really really fast. Yep, it has been a whole year since I wrote my first post-Socius Has Begun. Its purpose really has not changed much at all. I love expressing myself and I love that I have my own little wonderful community that I can connect with. The past couple of days I have read numerous personal posts about the tragic death of Trey Pennington. The outpouring of sorrow over this event is a tribute to the deep human spirit that we have. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I do not know this gentleman personally but reading the stories about him gave me much food for thought. (more…)

Saying Thank You is an Act of Kindness

On my way to El Paso this morning I had the privilege of witnessing a moment of kindness that really set my day off on a good tone. The plane was packed and there was a mother who really needed two seats in order to sit with her young daughter. The flight attendant announced and asked publicly if there would be anyone willing to move to a single seat in order to accommodate this mother. One gentleman raised his hand and offered willingly. I witnessed a great act of kindness on his part but what the flight attendant and the mother did was just as important. They both deeply thanked him for his willingness to change seats. The attendant even offered him a free cocktail if he wished. (more…)

If you don't have a sense of humor then you probably should not be on this post.  If you do have a sense of humor, then thank you for not being too serious about social media. Twitter to me is such a powerful tool that has led me to new relationships from one end of this planet to the other. Social Media Insecurities- Part II

When the word clique appears in a sentence it rarely has positive connotations.  We have probably seen them throughout a school.  Definitely, they were there in a larger corporate environment.  Cliques, however, are definitely based on perception.  There are those that are truly real and those that are there only based on our insecurities in a new environment.  Lifes lessons hopefully have been able to help us see the differences.
